Troubleshooting

Quick answers to the most common questions. If your issue isn’t here, email nospam@edcaspersen.com with a short description and what device and iOS version you’re on.

There’s no sound or music

  1. Check that your device isn’t in silent mode. Flip the physical mute switch on the side of your iPhone, or check the silent toggle in Control Center.
  2. Make sure the volume is up. The in-game music and effects use the media audio channel.
  3. In Settings → Audio, confirm Sound Effects and Music are on and their volume sliders are not at zero.
  4. If you connected a Bluetooth speaker or headphones, confirm they’re connected and playing audio from other apps.

All audio, including the Soundtrack Player, follows the silent switch and pauses when you leave the app or lock the screen.

The music is too loud compared to the sound effects

Open Settings → Audio and lower the Music slider, or raise the Sound Effects slider. The two are independent.

I can’t reach tiers 4 to 10

Tiers 4 to 10 require the one-time full-game unlock. Tap a locked tier or the unlock button in Settings → Purchases to buy it. If you already bought it on another device or a previous install, use Settings → Restore Purchases.

I bought the unlock but it isn’t showing

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to the same Apple ID you purchased with.
  2. Open Settings → Restore Purchases. This re-applies a previous purchase and never charges you again.
  3. If you just purchased and it still shows locked, give it a moment and reopen the app. The App Store can take a few seconds to confirm.

The purchase button does nothing

This usually means the store could not load the product. Check your internet connection and try again. If it keeps failing, the app shows a short message explaining the store is unavailable; wait a bit and retry, or restart the app.

Leaderboards are empty or not loading

  1. Confirm you’re signed in to Game Center: iOS Settings → Game Center.
  2. Game Center boards need a connection. On a fresh install or first sign-in it can take a moment to appear.
  3. Your scores post after a run ends. If you have not finished a run since signing in, there may be nothing to show yet.

iCloud sync isn’t working across devices

  • Confirm both devices are signed in to the same iCloud account.
  • Confirm iCloud Drive is enabled: iOS Settings → your Apple ID → iCloud.
  • Sync can take a few seconds on Wi-Fi and up to a minute on cellular. It is not instant.
  • Try closing and relaunching the app on the receiving device. Sync sometimes needs a foreground event to fetch.
  • If iCloud is unavailable, your progress is still saved locally on each device.

My progress reset or looks wrong

Progress is stored per mode and per tier, and Orbit and Pendulum are tracked separately. If a tier looks like it reset:

  1. Make sure you’re looking at the same mode and tier you were playing.
  2. If you use iCloud across devices, give sync a moment to catch up after launching.
  3. Note that Settings → Progress → Reset options will set tiers back to level 1 on purpose. The “Reset All Progress” option is double-confirmed because it cannot be undone.

The game feels like it’s in the wrong orientation

For Orbit, check Settings → Orbit orientation. Auto follows how you hold the device; Horizontal and Vertical lock it. Pendulum is always vertical by design.

The app crashes or freezes

  1. Force-quit the app and relaunch.
  2. Make sure iOS is up to date.
  3. If it persists, uninstall and reinstall. If iCloud sync is enabled, your progress re-syncs on first launch.

How do I reset everything?

Use Settings → Progress → Reset All Progress to send every tier in both modes back to level 1. To wipe local data entirely, delete and reinstall the app. If iCloud sync is enabled, iCloud data will resync on first launch, so turn off iCloud first if you want a truly clean start.

Feature requests and bugs

Email nospam@edcaspersen.com. Include:

  • What you expected to happen
  • What actually happened
  • Device model and iOS version (iOS Settings → General → About)
  • The app version (Settings → About inside Arclo)
  • Which mode and tier you were playing

Short, specific reports are much easier to act on than vague ones. Screenshots and a screen recording help a lot.
